Collection Services <br /> Franchise Agreement with Pleasanton Garbage Service <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton Page 32 June 7, 2022 <br />5.3 Recyclable Materials Collection Services 1058 <br />5.3.1 General 1059 <br />Contractor shall Collect Recyclable Materials that are commingled in the Customer’s Recyclable Materials 1060 <br />Collection Container provided that the Customer has Source Separated the Recyclable Materials from 1061 <br />Solid Waste and Organic Materials. The types of Recyclable Materials to be Collected by Contractor are 1062 <br />specified in Section 1.91. Contractor shall Transport all Recyclables Collected to the Approved Recyclable 1063 <br />Materials Processing Site for Processing. 1064 <br />In accordance with Section 4.3, the City may request Contractor to modify its scope of services to include 1065 <br />Collection of additional types of Recyclable Materials beyond those materials defined in Section 1.91. If 1066 <br />the City requests Collection of additional Recyclable Materials, the Contractor shall not receive additional 1067 <br />compensation for Collection service if the Recyclable Materials are placed by Generator in the Recyclable 1068 <br />Materials Container unless Contractor can demonstrate that Collection of the additional material(s) 1069 <br />requires modifications to Collection routes to accommodate the additional volume of the material(s). An 1070 <br />adjustment to Contractor’s Rates may be made for changes in Processing costs in accordance with 1071 <br />Sections 4.3 and 8.5. 1072 <br />5.3.2 Single-Family Recyclables Collection Service 1073 <br />Contractor shall Collect Recyclable Materials from Single-Family Premises once each week on the regularly 1074 <br />scheduled Solid Waste Collection day. Contractor shall supply each Single-Family Customer with one (1) 1075 <br />Cart for storage and Collection of Recyclable Materials. The Contractor shall provide each Customer a 1076 <br />ninety-six (96)gallon Cart (or similar size approved by the City). 1077 <br />If a Customer requests a second Recyclables Cart, Contractor shall provide the Cart to the Customer for 1078 <br />regular weekly Collection service. The Contractor shall charge the Customer for the extra Recyclables Cart 1079 <br />at the Rate approved by the City on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1080 <br />For Single-Family Premises, Contractor shall Collect Carts from the Curb (or at other designated location 1081 <br />for townhomes, condos, or attached Single-Family Premises) unless the Occupant is physically unable to 1082 <br />place the Container Curbside. In such case, Contractor shall Collect Carts from an alternative service 1083 <br />location (such as the side yard or back yard) at no additional fee. Customers that are physically capable 1084 <br />of moving Carts Curbside may choose to subscribe to side yard or back yard service. In such cases, 1085 <br />Contractor shall Collect Carts from the alternative service location and charge the Customer for the extra 1086 <br />service in accordance with the City-approved Rate on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1087 <br />Contractor shall replace Containers, which were specifically designated for Recyclable Materials that have 1088 <br />been stolen or damaged at no cost to the Customer not more than once per year. Additional Cart 1089 <br />replacements shall be charged to the Customer at a City-approved Rate on the Rate schedule in Exhibit G. 1090 <br />Contractor shall instruct Single-Family Customers as to any necessary preparation of materials; the proper 1091 <br />placement of Recyclable Materials Carts Curbside; and shall notify Single-Family Generators who fail to 1092 <br />follow these instructions in accordance with Section 5.14.8. In cases of extreme or repeated failure to 1093 <br />comply with the instructions, Contractor may Collect the Recyclable Materials as Solid Waste and shall 1094 <br />charge the Customer for the extra Solid Waste Cart at the City-approved Rate on the Rate schedule in 1095 <br />Exhibit G. 1096
