Prepare and distribute annually a brochure and/or feature a quarterly newsletter article <br />promoting the Organic Materials Collection program. Contractor shall instruct Customers on <br />how to prepare Food Scraps, and provide tips for minimizing employee training. <br />3. Prepare and distribute annually a brochure and/or feature a quarterly newsletter article <br />promoting the free Recycling technical assistance offered by Contractor and the services of the <br />Alameda County Waste Management Authority’s StopWaste Partnership program. <br />4. Prepare brochures, flyers, and articles for the quarterly newsletter related to non-franchise- <br />related programs such as source reduction, reuse and non-Contractor Recyclable Materials <br />programs (e.g., green business recognition, Hazardous Waste management, buy-recycled <br />policies, etc.). These materials shall be available upon request, and articles shall be published <br />in the quarterly newsletter. <br />5. Conduct audits of Commercial Premises as required by Section 5.17.6 of the Agreement. Audits <br />shall include: <br />• Meeting with the Customer, Owner, property manager, and/or party responsible for the <br />day-to-day operations of the on-site Commercial activities to discuss the Collection program <br />options, review the types of materials generated, promote Diversion services, respond to <br />questions, agree upon the appropriate Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic <br />Materials service levels, etc.; <br />• Visual inspection of the types of Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials <br />generated at the Premises and estimation of the appropriate level of service for Solid <br />Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials Collection service; and, <br />• Distribution of public education materials, signage, and posters, to Customers at the time <br />of the assessment or upon request. <br />6. Educate businesses about the Commercial Organic Materials program. The key components of <br />the public education campaign shall be: <br />• Placing Food Scraps presentation posters in highly trafficked areas in the City; and, <br />• Producing and distributing periodically, but at Contractor’s discretion not more than <br />quarterly, newsletters or bill inserts that inform customers about the Commercial Organic <br />Materials Program. <br />7. Develop and distribute a Recycling resource guide to provide vendors with names, numbers, <br />and contacts for purchasing Recycled products, re-use donation locations, and other Recycling <br />companies, to be updated annually. <br />8. Attend business association meetings to promote and explain the Collection programs <br />throughout the term of the Agreement, as requested by the associations or as scheduled by the <br />City. <br />9. Provide employee training to businesses that participate in Recyclable Materials and/or Organic <br />Materials Collection programs, annually upon the Customer’s request. <br />10. Develop and use a corrective action notice for use situations where businesses set out <br />inappropriate materials.
