SECTION 3. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS <br /> 3.01 Special Considerations <br /> 3.01A Management Goals <br /> On a scale of 1 to 5, maintain all landscape areas at a 3.5 to 5.0 (excellent to outstanding). <br /> 3.0113 Site Inspections <br /> Regular site visits by the City Landscape Architect and the Contractor's Representative <br /> will be on a monthly basis to ensure that the rating of 3.5 to 5.0 is maintained,to consider <br /> changes to the maintenance practices, and to direct special operations. <br /> 3.01C Schedule <br /> An updated annual schedule for irrigation,pesticides, and pre-emergents shall be <br /> provided each year at the start of the contract period on July 1. <br /> A schedule that indicates the amount of man hours and the days of the week that the <br /> maintenance crew will be at each site shall be submitted to the City as part of the regular <br /> site visits under Section 3.01B Site Inspections. <br /> 3.01 D Areas <br /> The cost to maintain all landscaped areas described by the specifications must be based <br /> on conditions as they exist at the time of the bid. <br /> 3.01 E Irrigationystem Care <br /> All irrigation repairs as noted in 3.04 of this section are included. <br /> 3.01 F Exceptions <br /> No exceptions to these specifications will be allowed unless approved in writing by the <br /> Project Administrator. <br /> 3.02 Natural or Open Space <br /> Natural or rough areas shall be maintained in neat appearance suitable to the intent of the <br /> area. Areas with large mature trees shall be kept free of dead wood on the grounds. Wild <br /> grasses shall be cut and raked at least annually or additionally as directed by the City. <br /> Fire control work is considered as part of this contract and shall be provided by the <br /> Contractor and paid for as "Weed Abatement".
