Ken Mercer Sports Park Skatepark Construction Documents
Scope of Services
rrm April 20, 2022
design Page 3 of 9
group
RRM will submit a draft version of the drainage and stormwater control plan and the
City of Pleasanton Stormwater Requirements Checklist with the 60% PS&E and the final
version will be submitted with the 100% PS&E
Pump Plan
Due to the grades of the project site and proposed skate park, a pump is needed in the skate
park area to pump stormwater to the drainage system and stormwater treatment measures.
RRM will calculate the design flow of the pump based on the ten year storm. The pump will be
an off-the-shelf manufactured product that can convey the contributing ten year storm —no
custom mechanical pump design is included in this scope. The pump plans will call out the
specific pump model number and manufacturer with an "or approved equal" qualifier. RRM's
electrical engineering subconsultant, Zeiger Engineering, will provide electrical engineering
design to provide a power source to the pump.
The pump will be housed in a below-grade box specified by the pump's manufacturer, City-
standard utility box, County-standard utility box, or Caltrans-standard utility box— no custom
structural pump enclosure is included in this scope.
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan SWPPP
A project SWPPP is required for this project (more than one acre of disturbed land). RRM will
prepare plans for temporary erosion control facilities. Temporary facilities will be proposed for
the protection of graded areas and drainage devices. Details and appropriate notes for
construction best management practices (BMP) and guidelines for implementation are proposed
to be in conformance with the State of California Water Resources Board requirements and the
approved staff report, including sediment control recommendations.
The temporary erosion control plans will be incorporated into the project improvement plans
as well as into the project SWPPP. RRM will conduct a risk determination based on the project's
topography, soil, schedule, location, and receiving water then prepare the SWPPP based on the
project-specific risk level. The SWPPP will be based on the 100% PS&E submittal. This task
includes preparing permit registration documents using the SMARTS database for certification
by the Client and submittal to the Water Boards. The City will initiate the project in SMARTS.
This task does not include construction monitoring, QSP services, or SWPPP updates during
construction.
Construction Plan
Construction plans for the overall skatepark design and surrounding amenities layout with a
keynoting system that identifies all construction items, references to appropriate details, and
drawing series directions. This plan will include and annotate all skate and site features, walls,
hardscape, paving materials, ramps, stairs, fences, handrails, and lighting. Design assumes Fire
Department will utilize the proposed and existing parking lots as the access roads.
