3. Drop Boxes. Solid Waste Drop Boxes shall have gray bodies; <br /> Recyclable Materials Drop Boxes shall have blue bodies; and, <br /> Organic Materials Drop Boxes shall have green bodies. <br /> 4. C&D Containers. Containers for Collection of C&D may be in any <br /> color, provided that the colors do not conflict with the Container <br /> color requirements of this Section and provided that the C&D <br /> Container colors are consistent for all C&D Containers. The C&D <br /> Container color shall be proposed by the Contractor and reviewed <br /> and approved by the City Contract Manager prior to Contractor's <br /> procurement of such Containers. Containers used for Source <br /> Separated Collection of C&D materials at a Customer's location will <br /> have a label indicating the allowable materials and most common <br /> Prohibited Container Contaminants for the material types Collected. <br /> 5. Hardware. Hardware such as hinges and wheels on the Containers <br /> may be a different color than specified above. <br /> C. Timing and Approval. On and after January 1, 2022, all new and <br /> replacement Containers shall comply with the color and labeling <br /> requirements of this Section. Notwithstanding this Section, the Contractor <br /> is not required to replace functional Containers, including Containers <br /> purchased prior to January 1, 2022, that do not comply with the color <br /> requirements of this Section prior to the end of the useful life of those <br /> Containers, or prior to January 1, 2036, whichever comes first. Contractor <br /> shall obtain written approval from the City on the proposed Container <br /> colors and labeling prior to procuring or distributing new or replacement <br /> Containers." <br /> 5.17.7 SB 1383 Education and Outreach is a new section that specifically addresses SB <br /> 1383 Education and Outreach requirements. <br /> "A. Annual Notice of Requirements. Not less than once per year, Contractor shall <br /> prepare and distribute to each Generator in the City a mailer that includes <br /> information specified in 14 CCR Section 18985.1(a). Such mailer shall be <br /> distributed by Contractor to all Single-Family, Multi-Family, and Commercial <br /> mailing addresses including individual Multi-Family Dwelling Units. Contractor <br /> shall also make this notice available in an electronic format through the <br /> Contractor's website. This information shall, at a minimum, include: <br /> 1. Information on the Generator's requirements to properly separate Source <br /> Separated Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, and Solid Waste, and <br /> place such materials in appropriate Containers pursuant to this <br /> Agreement, SB 1383 Regulations, and all other Applicable Law. <br /> Page 13 of 22 <br />
