TRANSIT SHELTERS: The applicant shall design and construct transit shelters with trash <br /> receptacles at locations determined by the Director of Community Development. The <br /> shelter and trash receptacle design shall be reviewed and approved by the Director of <br /> Engineering/City Engineer and Director of Community Development prior to issuance of <br /> project building permits and shall be installed prior to occupancy. An Encroachment <br /> Permit shall be obtained prior to installation. Lighting shall be provided if determined <br /> necessary by the Director of Engineering/City Engineer. The applicant shall be <br /> responsible for maintaining the transit shelter and trash receptacles. <br /> Bicycle Parking <br /> 117. BICYCLE PARKING: Projects with 20 or more vehicle parking spaces shall provide <br /> minimum bicycle parking equivalent to five percent of the total number of vehicle parking <br /> spaces, with a maximum of 20 required bicycle parking spaces. Bicycle parking shall be <br /> shown on the building permit plans for review and approval by the Traffic Engineering <br /> Division prior to building permit submittal. <br /> 118. BICYCLE RACKS: All bicycle racks shall comply with the following criteria: <br /> a. Located in a visible and accessible location; <br /> b. Support the frame of the bicycle and not just one wheel; <br /> c. Allow the frame and one wheel to be locked to the rack; <br /> d. Allow the use of either a cable or U-shaped lock; <br /> e. Be securely anchored; <br /> f. Be usable by bikes with no kickstand; and <br /> g. Be usable by a wide variety of bicycle sizes and types. <br /> The number, location and type of bicycle racks shall be shown on the building permit <br /> plans and shall be subject to review and approval by the City Traffic Engineer prior to <br /> issuance of building permits. <br /> Traffic Control <br /> 119. TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN (TCP): A comprehensive traffic control plan shall be <br /> submitted to the City Traffic Engineer for review and approval. Best management <br /> practices to minimize traffic impacts shall be used during construction, including <br /> scheduling of major truck trips and deliveries, to avoid peak travel hours. The TCP shall <br /> have proper lane closure procedures such as flagger stations, signage, cones, and other <br /> warning devices implemented during construction. The TCP shall also include time of <br /> day/hours of lane closures and total number of days. <br /> 120. TRUCK ROUTES: The haul route for all materials to and from the project site shall be <br /> reviewed and approved by the City Traffic Engineer prior to building permit issuance and <br /> shall include the provision to monitor the street surfaces used for the haul route so that <br /> any damage and debris attributable to the haul trucks is identified and corrected at the <br /> expense of the applicant. <br /> for review.
