ATTACHMENT 1
41.,
Pakpour Consulting Group, Inc.
December 22, 2021
Updated January 5, 2022
SM Saklaen
Associate Civil Engineer, Engineering
City of Pleasanton
P.O. Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Subject: Addendum No. 1 Budget Increase
Val Vista Park Underdrain System Improvements CIP#21457
City of Pleasanton
Dear SM,
Per your request we are following up the December 1,2021 field meeting with Park Maintenance
Division (Parks) staff to review City comments for the 65% submittal plans for the Val Vista Park
Underdrain System Improvements CIP #21457 project. Pakpour Consulting Group's (PCG)
original design proposal dated June 10, 2021 excluded detailed design plans and specifications
for the pump stations, wet-wells, control systems and electrical supply to provide power. We
understand now Parks staff preference is to include the following additional scope items:
• Package Pump Station
• Simplex Control Panel System
• Electrical Power Supply
• Additional Project Specific Details
Task 1.1—Package Pump Station Design
The City requested PCG to explore various pump station layouts with local suppliers to develop a
decision matrix for the two proposed small pumps stations included with the 65%submittal plans
for City staff review and approval. The submittal package also included a memorandum
summarizing the estimated excess irrigation flowrates for Parks staff review and approval. We
understand Parks staff will be responsible for maintaining the underdrain collector line system
for the three existing soccer fields and two proposed small pump stations to be located west of
Field Nos. 1 and 3. Parks staff now prefer a package pump station design.
The package pump station supplier,Jensen Engineered Systems (JES), includes a project specific
design, plans and specifications with the construction cost. Pump station commissioning and
training of Parks staff can be provided by JES as sperate cost items, which will be included with
the project specifications.
{ 6601 Owens Drive,Suite 230,Pleasanton,CA 94588
(925)224-7717•FAX(925)224-7726•www.pcgengr.com ZernI o11 Int(rtiiied
