anticipated the engineered fill restoration could run as high as $10 to $15 per square foot. While it is not anticipated that the entire street will require restoration to a depth of four feet, it is estimated the cost of pavement restoration could be between $6 to $8 million. This does not include curb and gutter, sidewalk, landscaping or utility work. If a complete streetscape, replacing all surface improvements within the right-of-way (including all landscaped areas) is required, the costs could exceed $10 million. These figures are provided as an order of magnitude for the street restoration. They will be refined during the geotechnical and utility investigations. After completion of the geotechnical study, staff will review and select the best mitigation option and will begin a request for qualifications process to find a qualified consultant (engineering) team to prepare plans and specifications for the permanent repair and reconstruction of West Las Positas Boulevard. A consultant contract will be brought to City Council for award upon completion of the selection process. Budget The current budget for the design including geotechnical study is $1 million which is funded in the current year. After completion of the geotechnical study and a mitigation strategy is selected, a construction cost estimate will be developed for the budgeting process.
