Regular site visits by the Parks Superintendent and the Contractor's <br /> Representative will be held monthly to ensure that the rating of 4.0 to 5.0 is <br /> maintained, to consider changes to the maintenance practices, and to direct special <br /> operations. <br /> C. Schedules <br /> An updated schedule for pesticide and pre-emergent applications shall be <br /> provided at the beginning of the contract period, October 1st, each year. <br /> Each month a schedule shall be provided which recaps the previous 30 days work <br /> and provides for the next 60 days scheduled work. Schedules are to include crew <br /> locations by day. <br /> Alameda County Fair- In the street median areas surrounding the Alameda <br /> County Fair Grounds care shall be taken during the summer Fair from <br /> approximately mid-June to mid-July. It is advisable to complete any median <br /> maintenance work before or after this time. Trash removal requirements during <br /> this time in these median areas can be heavier. <br /> D. Areas <br /> The cost to maintain all landscaped areas described by the specifications must be <br /> based on conditions as they exist at the time of the bid. <br /> 2-02 Natural or Open Space <br /> Natural or rough areas shall be maintained in neat appearance suitable to the <br /> intent of the area.Areas with large mature trees shall be kept free of dead wood <br /> on the grounds. Wild grasses shall be cut and raked at least semi-annually or <br /> additionally as directed by the City. Large broadleaf weeds shall be controlled <br /> either chemically or manually removed. <br /> 2-03 Debris Control <br /> A.All clippings,trimmings, cuttings, trash, and rubbish associated with landscape <br /> maintenance shall be promptly removed from the site. <br /> B. The property shall be toured each week to pick up and dispose of debris such as <br /> bottles, papers,cartons, and similar items to keep the grounds neat in appearance. <br /> C. Large items of debris, such as large appliances or couches, abandoned on the <br /> properties by others shall be removed to a suitable dump site by the City or by the <br /> Contractor as Additional Cost Work if approved by the City.Notify the City <br /> immediately when such dumping occurs. <br /> 2-04 Hardscape <br /> Street median hardscape areas shall be maintained in neat, clean appearance. Areas are to <br /> be kept weed-free. Excess dirt build-up is to be removed at least semi-annually. <br /> Park and Ride Lot hardscape areas are to be policed Monday through Friday to remove <br /> litter and trash so that they are maintained in a neat, clean condition. Areas are to be kept <br /> weed-free. <br /> Fire Station hardscape areas are to be policed monthly to remove litter and trash so that <br /> areas are maintained in a neat, clean, condition.
