From my 38 years of working with the City on numerous development projects it appears that there are no show -stoppers in the church's plans for the property that cannot be resolved.This will be a very fine addition to the community.This proposal is a vast improvement I think compared to the residential project that was approved for the site in 2016. It seems like an ideal location for the congregation to serve their existing members and to grow the flock in the Tri -Valley in the future. I walked the site recently and was really struck by how appropriate it seems for people of faith to gather there. The Planning Commission Workshop format is an ideal forum in which to discuss the overall proposal and to work collaboratively to resolve any outstanding issues before the church formally submits an application for approval. I am not a member of this congregation but I have the good fortune to know several of their worshipers.They are anxious to see their long standing dream of locating their parish in Pleasanton. Working together with the community they will finally realize that goal. As always I appreciate the great work that the staff and our appointed and elected officials do to strive to make Pleasanton better. The Resurrection Greek Orthodox church will further that ideal.
