SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL,
Provided to the Planning Commission
After distribution of Packet
Dear Planning Commission Members, Date Distributed: 4/14/2021 SA
My name is Bill Wheeler, I am the President and CEO of Black Tie Transportation here in
Pleasanton. For over 35 years, my company has seen impressive growth and diversification in
this outstanding community. Furthering that diversification, I am writing in support for the
Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church proposal to move to our City.
Pleasanton's inclusive community makes for a great location to establish a new architecturally
beautiful Greek Orthodox Church, who holds to their commitment to family prosperity and
wellbeing, as well as their support of diverse cultures.
As I understand, the project would not impact residential development nor would it have an
adverse effect on traffic. As you all may know, I like traffic, it's my business! But in this case, I
don't think we have anything to worry about.
Many of you may know that I have personally distributed thousands of wheelchairs all over the
world to people in need. The RGOC Parishioners are also known for their generosity and their
philanthropy, locally and abroad.
Greek Americans of the Tri -Valley will be given the opportunity to express themselves and
embrace the Greek culture that was previously inaccessible to residents. In accepting this
project, Pleasanton could be recognized as one of the most religiously diverse communities in
Northern California.
I wish you all the best in this important project and the decisions surrounding it. As I know and
love this community, I am confident and hopeful in the decisions that you will make on behalf
of the people fortunate to live here.
Sincerely,
Bill Wheeler
