March 31, 2021 <br />TO: Planning Commission, City of Pleasanton <br />FR: Scott Raty, leasanton <br />RE: Support for Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church development application for construction <br />of new church at 11300 Dublin Canyon Road <br />Please accept my enthusiastic support for the above referenced application of the RGOC to make <br />its new home in Pleasanton. As a 44 -year resident, and 15 -year past President/CEO of the <br />Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce I have had the privilege of interacting with Father Nikolaos <br />(Niko) Bekris and leaders of the RGOC for more than five years in their thoughtful pursuit of a <br />new location in our community. In fact, I count many RGOC members among my closest of <br />friends and colleagues over many years of living and working in Pleasanton. <br />The Dublin Canyon site is an outstanding match for the needs of the church, and an excellent <br />opportunity for the City of Pleasanton to help meet its ever -challenging objective to identify <br />locations and provide religious institution zoning for our community's richly diverse population. <br />The renderings for the planned facility are beautiful and reflect church leadership's commitment <br />to provide a significant enhancement to our community's western most gateway of which all <br />may take pride. <br />Thank you for this opportunity to provide input, I urge your unanimous support of this <br />application.
