Dear Pleasanton Planning Commission,
The Resurrection Greek Orthodox Church has chosen Pleasanton for its new home. Allow me to take a
moment and introduce you to this active community. The church has a strong belief in faith, family, and
fellowship... but that's just part of the story.
Ever since the doors opened in 1971, the Resurrection Church has been a place of worship, connection,
and traditions that have been passed down through the generations. Take a look inside and you will find
bustling youth groups, an active senior community, a partnership with the Alameda County Food Bank
for a food pantry, and many community outreach projects benefiting our local area as well as national
organizations. The annual Greek Festival welcomes neighbors and friends to a weekend of traditional
food and music showcasing the lively Greek culture and warm hospitality.
As times have changed, so has the need for a new facility to house the growing parish family. I look
forward to a healthy and mutually beneficial partnership between the Resurrection Church and the City
of Pleasanton. As a long time Pleasanton resident, I believe the exquisitely designed new facility will not
only enhance the surrounding beauty of the area but will become a hidden gem to all who visit.
Please join me in supporting the church and community in this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Yianna Theodorou
I=-com
