In addition to typical weekly activities, special events would periodically be held. The
largest of these is the annual Greek Festival, a food and cultural festival that typically
runs an entire weekend, and which could exceed 500 daily attendees. A listing of yearly
festivals and special events is included in as part of Exhibit B and further analyzed
further in the report.
As proposed, the commercial kitchen would mainly serve the needs of the parish,
allowing all food preparation to take place on-site and for the benefit of the parish and
the local community. The kitchen will not be used commercially in the conduct of a
business, other than for the annual Greek Festival and to serve the community as
needed (for example, in support of a food pantry or similar activities).
Landscape and Tree Removal
The proposed landscape plan shown in Figure 4 includes a list of plant species
including a mix of native and non-native plant species with low water use requirements.
Along the 800 -foot project frontage, the current landscape plan includes planting a total
of 36 trees with a grouping of trees at the project entry. In addition, the applicant is
proposing a 15 -foot landscape strip along the west property line adjacent to the nearest
single-family residence to be planted with 'Saratoga' Sweetbay. Additional trees will also
be planted along the interior perimeter of the site as well as within the parking lot area.
Figure 4: Landscape Plan
