assume a maximum capacity of 524 persons when taken at the ratio of 1 parking space for each 4
persons (1:4), which is a more realistic scenario. The largest capacity room, with non -fixed seating, will
be the gym/large hall of the MPB at 500 persons, which is less than the 524 calculated using the 1:4
ratio. Further, the fixed seating of 350 in the future church building is a lower number, thereby allowing
for more parking than would be needed during church services, even with a filled -to -capacity
attendance. Finally, it should be clearly noted that there would never be a situation where rooms in
the MPB would be used (other than a few persons performing administrative tasks) while religious
services are taking place in the church building. In other words, there would never be a situation
where we would have more than 500 persons utilizing rooms on the site at any given time.
Further to the above, the proposed church will utilize fixed seats in the Church and non -fixed seats in all
other rooms. Because the church offers a variety of services and activities at differing times, it is not
anticipated that the campus would operate at full capacity on any given hours or days, resulting in
fluctuating parking demand throughout the week. Parking impact is analyzed using the peak
activity/event as this generates the highest parking demand rather than the maximum amount of parking
required if the two buildings were at full capacity. It is anticipated that the maximum peak activity/event
time occurs on Sundays between 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. During this time, the facility would require a
total of 84 spaces. To reiterate, there will be NO time that activities are taking place both at the
church and the MPB.
See Table 1 for Schedule of Activities and Required Parking Spaces.
TABLE
ONE
DAY TIME
M -F 800A -
500P
M -F 600P -
800P
M -F 800P -
930P
M -Th 630P -
830P
Schedule of Activities and Required Parking Spaces
ACTIVITY OR EVENT NOISE &
REQUIRE
AVAILABL FREQUENC
w/ (Max Number OTHER
D
E Y OF USE
Attendees) COMMENT
PARKING
PARKING
S
SPACE
SPACE
Office Work (6)
Basketball/Volleyball
(20)
Basketball/Volleyball
(15)
Cub/Girls Scouts (30)
Regular
office
noise;
inside
Regular
gym noise;
inside
Regular
gym noise;
inside
Regular
conversati
onal noise;
some
music;
meetings
largely
6 121
10 121
15 121
20 121
ROOM
4X WK ADMIN
2X WK
2X WK
1X WK
MPB Gym
MULTI
PURP
CLASSROO
M
