Costs <br />The City will have one-time costs of approximately $30,000 to $44,000 for these <br />activities. Schedule <br />The City’s ordinance must be effective no later than January 1, 2022. It is <br />recommended that the City begin ordinance revisions as soon as possible to <br />accommodate the necessary drafting time and City Council approval process by the <br />end of 2021. <br />E. Education and Outreach <br />1. Requirements <br />SB 1383 prescribes that annual education and outreach is provided through print <br />and/or electronic media to generators within a jurisdiction, with the option to conduct <br />additional outreach through direct contact with generators via workshops, meetings, <br />or on-site visits. <br />Additionally, there is another subset of specific information the City must provide to <br />Tier 1 and Tier 2 Commercial Edible Food Generators. <br />2. Key Activities <br />HF&H recommends that the City enter negotiations with PGS to amend their Franchise <br />Agreement to bolster existing education provisions and ensure that the specific <br />content requirements of the final SB 1383 regulations are included.
