Brew Crawl (October); Wine Stroll (May); 13 Concerts in the Park in Lions Wayside
Park (June through August); two Antique Fairs (May and October); one joint
membership mixer (July); Forkful (September); Small Business Saturday (November);
and Holiday Spirit and Sweater Stroll (December). A new one-day Festival-style event
discussed in 2019 to bring the entire community together and celebrate the downtown
was anticipated for 2021 using revenue generated in 2020. Given the decrease in
revenue in 2020, it is hopeful this event can be implemented in 2022 using potential
revenue from 2021, and become a traditional PDA event each year growing into a full
weekend celebration.
To support downtown businesses, the City approved the closure of Main Street to allow
businesses the opportunity to expand their business footprint on the weekends from
June 19 to November 1, 2020. The street closure was marketed as A Weekend on Main
to encourage the community to support downtown businesses and promote the
hometown character of downtown Pleasanton. It is anticipated a similar street closure
will return in 2021 after consideration by the City Council and PDA.
Adoption of the resolution included as Attachment 2 will serve to accept the Downtown
Pleasanton Business Improvement District Advisory Board 2020 Annual Report and
2021 PDA Budget and set December 1, 2020, as the date of the public hearing to levy
the BID assessment for 2021.
ubmitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
...,?
mj/C4/C—
/rVifr ''
amela Ott Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
eputy City Manager Director of Finance City Manager
Attachments:
1. 2020 Advisory Board Report and 2021 PDA Budget
2.
