In May 2000, the City selected West Coast Arborist to complete the City's annual tree <br />trimming and removal services contract to implement the City's tree inventory system. <br />Staff has been very satisfied with their performance and tree inventory upkeep. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The project consists of normal maintenance tree pruning throughout the City for the <br />duration of contract. The Contractor bid an hourly rate for a "crew rental" as well as "unit <br />prices" for routine street tree pruning. The contractor will perform the bulk of the tree <br />trimming work at the per tree rate but will bill at the crew rental rate when they are <br />diverted off routine street tree trimming work to perform urgent, non -routine requests and <br />consulting arborist services for the Engineering Department. <br />Composition of Billing <br />Work Type <br />Percent of Total Work <br />Billing Rate <br />Crew Rental <br />15% <br />$255/Hour <br />Per Tree Rate <br />80% <br />$85/Tree <br />Arborist Hourly Rate <br />2% <br />$150.00/Hour <br />Other Miscellaneous Work <br />3% <br />Variable <br />Total compensation for this agreement is for a three-year period beginning October 1, <br />2020 to June 30, 2023, and includes $127,000 for tree work services rendered in August <br />and September 2020.
