MR. DARREN BAUNE, P.E. <br />JULY 22, 2020 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Well 8 - The City operates Well 8 at a reduced capacity of 2,200 gpm because the well has historically <br />had problems with sanding. The original design capacity of Well 8 is 3,650 gpm. The City prefers to <br />evaluate alternatives to remove sand, or modify the well operations, to return Well 8 to its design <br />capacity of 3,650 gpm. Based on the results of the evaluation, the City will determine whether to design <br />Well 8 and related PFAS treatment for the original design capacity or the reduced capacity it currently <br />operates at. The City also performed a video inspection of the Well 8 casing in 2013. It is assumed this <br />video is available for Carollo's review. <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />LSCE was asked to prepare a scope and budget based on previous correspondence regarding the project <br />LSCE's Scope of Work is outlined below: <br />Task 1— Well 5 Support Services <br />• Historical data compilation and review <br />• Review Well 5 video <br />• Provide Letter Report summarizing well video analysis and provide recommendations <br />Task 2 — Well 6 Support Services <br />• Historical data compilation and review <br />• Oversee video of Well 6. <br />o This task assumes a static and dynamic test will be performed and it is not required <br />to remove the pump. <br />o LSCE to sub -contract well video contractor <br />• Water quality sampling (TDS, Sand, Turbidity and Bacteria) <br />o LSCE contract directly with analytical lab <br />• Provide letter report summarizing well video analysis and provide recommendations <br />Task 3 — Well 8 Support Services <br />• Historical data compilation and review <br />• Review 2013 Well video <br />• Oversee Well 8 video <br />o This task assumes a static and dynamic test will be performed and it is not required <br />to remove the pump <br />o LSCE to sub -contract well video contractor <br />• Water quality sampling (TDS, Sand, Turbidity and Bacteria) <br />o LSCE contract directly with analytical lab <br />• Provide letter report summarizing well video analysis and provide recommendations <br />Task 4 — Technical Workshop <br />• Prepare materials for workshop <br />• Attend half-day workshop <br />4 LSCE <br />
