upon request. <br /> The OPERATOR's driver safety and training program must include, at a minimum, the <br /> following: <br /> 1. Eight(8)hours of DOT-certified defensive driving instruction (new driver training). <br /> 2. Eight(8)hours of DOT-certified passenger assistance training and sensitivity training in <br /> working with elderly and disabled passengers, including training in proper wheelchair <br /> lift operation and wheelchair tie-downs (new driver training). <br /> 3. Training in CPR, first aid, emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures (every 2 <br /> years). <br /> 4. Training in map reading and local geography (new driver training, re-training as <br /> necessary). <br /> 5. Training on the CITY's PPS's policies and procedures (i.e. completing vouchers, <br /> assisting passengers, etc. (new driver training, re-training as necessary). <br /> 6. A re-training program, which will be a requirement for each driver who experiences a <br /> preventable accident, and for drivers who have identified performance problems. (re- <br /> training completed within two weeks following the accident and re-training <br /> documentation provided to the CITY prior to the driver being placed back into service <br /> under the AGREEMENT). <br /> 7. Ongoing driver safety/training sessions for all existing, trained drivers; training must <br /> include an overview of all elements in the new driver training as described above <br /> (monthly). <br /> 8. Evaluation of individual driver's skills (every six months). <br /> VII. RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A. Administration and System Planning <br /> The CITY's Paratransit Program Manager will be responsible for administering the <br /> AGREEMENT and for monitoring and evaluating the service. The OPERATOR'S Project <br /> Manager will be accountable to the CITY for the services provided under the AGREEMENT. <br /> The OPERATOR will be responsible for the delivery of transportation services under the <br /> AGREEMENT in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the CITY. The <br /> OPERATOR will coordinate, manage, and control all necessary program activities which will <br /> include,but not be limited to: providing cost-effective and efficient door-to-door transportation <br /> and shuttle transportation services as needed by eligible program participants, washing and <br /> maintaining the interior and exterior of service vehicles,providing and training drivers and other <br /> project personnel, developing administrative procedures, and compiling financial and non- <br /> financial records, including service utilization data. <br /> The CITY is solely responsible for system planning and determinations regarding program <br /> policies and procedures. However,the CITY intends to work with the OPERATOR to plan and <br /> modify the service with resident and program participant input. Ideas and suggestions from the <br /> OPERATOR about system planning are encouraged. <br /> The CITY has a Pleasanton Paratransit Task Force (Task Force) whose purpose includes <br />
