iRecreation. <br />~lSection 2-17.08 Preservation and Maintenance of Existing Trees <br /> <br /> a) When proposed developments encroach into the drip <br />ii line area of any tree, special construction to allow <br />! <br />~! the roots to breathe and obtain moisture shall be <br />1~ required as determined by the Director of Recreation <br />~' b) The existing ground surface within four (4) feet <br />~! (measured horizontally) of the base of any tree <br />~ shall not be cut, filled or compacted. Tree wells <br />:i may be used where advisable. Excavation adjacent <br />~ to any tree shall not be permitted where damage <br />ii to the root system will result. <br />~, c) No oil, gas, chemical, heavy construction machinery <br /> <br /> or other construction materials shall be stored <br />i! within ten (10) feet of any tree. <br />~ d) No wires, unless those needed for support of the <br />i! tree, or signs other than small tree identification <br />~! signs shall be attached to any tree. <br /> <br />i! e) The Director of Recreation shall be notified by <br />~! the contractor or developer or owner of any damage <br /> <br />that occurs to a tree during construction so that <br />proper treatment may be administered by the <br />contractor. <br />~ection 2-17.09 Appeal. Any decision made by the Director of <br /> <br /> Recreation may be appealed by written application by any affected <br /> =resident or property owner in the City of Pleasanton to the <br /> Board of Zoning Adjustments. Such appeal must be submitted in <br /> <br />writing to the City Clerk within twenty (20) days of the decision <br />~being appealed and shall briefly state facts and the grounds of <br />the appeal and be signed by the appellant. Upon receipt of <br /> <br /> i~aid appeal the City Clerk shall set the item on the Board <br /> !~genda not later than thirty (30) days from the date of filing <br /> ~said appeal and shall notify the appellant of such setting. <br /> <br /> <br />
