Commissioners were advised that participants in the program would pay $5 for the first child and <br /> $2 for each additional child. Commissioner Costanzo questioned whether this was a donation <br /> request and was advised that it was to help pay for materials so children participating in the <br /> program would have items to take home. <br /> Ms. Pulanco confirmed for Commissioner Piergrossi the times and hours of operation for the <br /> program. <br /> Commissioner Immadi was informed by Ms. Pulanco that even though the location of the Valley <br /> Children's Museum is in Dublin, they have many children from Pleasanton who participate in the <br /> program. <br /> Chairperson Jain discussed with Ms. Pulanco the differences between the STEAM program <br /> offered by the Valley Children's Museum and those being offered by other organizations. <br /> Commissioner Avachat was informed that Valley Children's Museum would be unable to better <br /> advertise the program if they did not receive the funding they were requesting and that <br /> approximately $2,000 was what they had anticipated they would be spending on advertising. <br /> Ms. Pulanco also provided Commissioner Shah information about the types of programs and <br /> projects provided to the children who participate. <br /> Commissioner Mokashi asked about programs and activities for children of different ages and <br /> was advised that programs and exhibits are being expanded to include older children. <br /> Ms. Pulanco provided additional information about employees/volunteers, the trailer from which <br /> Valley Children's Museum operates, and the museums desire to work with the Pleasanton <br /> School District. <br /> Tri-Valley Haven / Healthy Relationships and Boundaries —Ashley Bhatia / Mikesha — advised <br /> that if granted funding would allow Tri-Valley Haven to offer their programs to 1 ,000 high school <br /> students and 400 middle school students. The program informs students about healthy <br /> relationships, strong boundaries, trafficking, date violence, and sexual assault. <br /> Commissioner Piergrossi was informed that Tri-Valley Haven (TVH) was unable to provide all <br /> the programming they had wanted the previous year because the funding allocated was not <br /> what had been requested. Commissioner Piergrossi questioned if TVH would rather receive <br /> complete funding for one program, or if partial funding for both would be preferred. <br /> Partners Fore Golf Inc./The First Tee of Tri-Valley / The First Tee Scholarship/Financial Aid <br /> Program — Cameron MacGregor— serves youth from the area in an eight-week golf session Life <br /> Skills Experience program. Mr. MacGregor advised that Partners Fore Golf is a youth education <br /> program that uses golf to teach life skills than can help mold and develop positive character <br /> traits in youth people.
