THE CITY OF
East Pleasanton Specific Plan _
Public Comments pLEASANTONO
From:Sandy Yamaoda
Sent: Monday, December 02, 2019 5:37 PM
To: Mayor and City Council <citycouncil@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject: East Pleasanton Specific Plan = Planning Process
Dear Mr. Mayor and City Council Members, We haven't received our RHNA numbers yet and I
understand you are beginning the planning for this east side. I object to this. How can you plan when
you don't have all the facts
The issues that the community objected to are still problems:
Our schools are underfunded and crowded—will the current residents have to pay for the students from
the east side from elementary through high school? We all know the impact fees will not cover the
expenses and are never enough. Otherwise, why are we facing the prospect of another bond issue?
Traffic is horrendous and the prospect of the extension of El Charro make me shutter at the cut through
traffic expected as well as additional traffic from the proposed homes. Would you really decide to put a
highway next to our water storage areas??
Water is still an issue and you need to get to Sacramento and plead our case that we will not have
enough SAFE water for our current residents much less future thousands.
WAIT until the RHNA numbers come though, consider other areas in Pleasanton for housing, leave the
east side zoned for an industrial park and encourage that type of use to provide jobs so our residents
will not face long, long commutes.
The COST: Don't make any sweetheart deals with Ponderosa that will cost residents so that Ponderosa
can make millions on another development—or you could just call this Ponderosa Town.
Sandy Yamaoda
Pleasanton, CA
Provided to City Council for the February 18,2020, Meeting 20
