THE CITY OF
East Pleasanton Specific Plan
Public Comments pLEASANTON®
6. While water supply and quality were discussed (both major issues),there was no discussion of
greenhouse gas emissions from the project. Staff's comments that the project would not result in any
environmental impacts is stunning. As you know, the City is updating its Climate Action Plan. Will the
GHG emissions for this project be included in the analysis? How about all the new tech-driven growth
and housing that are on the horizon elsewhere in the city?
7. Finally, since the public will be shut out of any meaningful participation in this planning effort if
you go forward as the majority indicated Tuesday night, the result of the plan should be put on the
ballot for voter approval. Despite staff and the majority's assertions to the contrary, this is the most
blatantly undemocratic and opaque process I have ever seen.
Thank you
Matt Sullivan
cell
Provided to City Council for the February 18,2020, Meeting 19
