CITY OF PLEASANTON CLIMATE ACTION PLAN UPDATE
County through prioritizing its proposed climate mitigation measures for both CAPs by assessing factors such as
effectiveness, cost, co-benefits, and feasibility. For the Community CAP,we are currently working with local partners to
analyze cityscapes and open lands in the County for carbon sequestration opportunities. We are also developing a
customized and multi-faceted community engagement strategy that will include a range of engagement tools and build
on partnerships in County communities, enabling us to reach the diverse—and dispersed—communities in
unincorporated San Mateo County. By pairing technical analysis with public engagement,we will ensure that the
Community CAP is inclusive, ambitious, and implementable, setting the County on a path to successful reduce
emissions.
Climate Action Plan Update (2.0) I City of Sacramento I 2018-Present
As part of a strategic update to Sacramento's General Plan, Rincon is preparing
an updated Climate Action Plan that advances the ambitious goals of the Mayor PLAN T
and City to be a leader in climate action and adaptation. The Climate Action Plan Om& , <`_ _ T
is being prepared with extensive involvement from the City, residents, the 4%. , , pelook
business community, and the Mayor's Climate Commission;to meet the City's
ambitious engagement goals, the Rincon team led an in-depth community lommig l !_
outreach campaign in partnership with public, private, and educational entities. -- 6
Throughout the process, Rincon is working closely with the City and i
stakeholders to develop a CAP that meets the specific needs of Sacramento,
including the use of CAPDash—a bespoke inventory, implementation, and monitoring tool developed by Rincon. The
measures are tied into the general plan update, and will reflect recent legislation as well as the demographics, GHG
emissions profile, and resources of the community. By working with the community and the Mayor's Climate
Commission, Rincon is creating measures alongside the organizations that will be implementing them.
To ensure that measures are effective and implementable, Rincon is accompanying each measure with a financing plan
that will identify sources of funding for implementation. By using CAPDash, the City of Sacramento can also track
measure success on an ongoing basis, allowing timely adjustments and amendments to meet the City's goals. CAPDash
also includes automatically updating dashboards for internal and external use, providing the implementation
transparency necessary for CEQA streamlining.
Climate Action Plan I Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District 12017-2018
Cascadia developed the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's first greenhouse gas
inventory and Climate Action Plan. In collaboration with the District, Cascadia completed the
agency's 2016 greenhouse gas inventory and designed a template the District can use to
track emissions going forward.Cascadia generated an emission forecast through 2045 based
on projections of recent land acquisitions, projected employee growth, and long-term land
management strategies—including a study of carbon sequestration on District-managed
lands. Based on inventory findings, our team recommended reduction targets and helped 4 11,
facilitate target setting with the District's board. The climate action strategies were cLwAnACTION PLAN
developed to meet the emission reduction goals and address the District's unique
operational activities, including land management.Cascadia produced a final Climate Action
Plan that includes a timeline for implementing climate action strategies and monitoring
progress.
ASCADIAo 17
