Commissioner Nene and Ms. Whitney advised that -the "Pollination" art piece is scheduled for <br />arrival and installation. <br />Chairperson. Pellegrino requested that members of the Commission be notified about <br />installation dates of these pieces so they could attend. <br />b. Special Event Sub -Committee <br />Commissioner Jellison advised that the Sub -Committee has been busy selecting acts for the <br />'Ignite' event and some exciting things are taking place. Work has also been taking place on- <br />the budget and choosing '.give-away' items. Anothermeeting is being scheduled to consider. <br />food trucks, etc. <br />COMMISSION -COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Wheeler further discussed missed opportunities for the 125th City of Pleasanton <br />Anniversary and felt the City needs to be more creative.- Commissioner Jellison agreed and <br />indicated very little was done to advertise the event other than a Pleasanton Weekly article and <br />the history of .Pleasanton provided at the Museum. <br />Commissioner Wheeler suggested the City and the Commission look at opportunities missed <br />and make sure if doesn't happen at `Ignite'. Commissioner Wedge-Bonde agreed and felt it <br />was important that as much as possible be done in promoting the event in order .to get people <br />out to attend. <br />Commissioner Nene questioned what was being planned for the event and Commissioners <br />Wheeler and Morales provided information and commented on what had .been at previous <br />events. <br />Chairperson Pellegrino felt the 125th Anniversary event had been a missed opportunity for the <br />City and the Commission since people were already going to be in the area attending the. <br />Concert in the Park. Commissioners Nene and Morales commented on the location not being <br />conducive and the event being more of a festival than providing history about the city. <br />Ms. Whitney discussed staffs role in showing the Library and Recreation department. <br />Commissioner Jellison felt something could.be done to tie-in to the city's history now that kids <br />are back in school. She indicated that her understandingwas that the Pleasanton Downtown <br />Association was going to take the lead on event planning and was saddened that parts of <br />history had never been included. <br />Commissioner Wheeler discussed socia_ I media and the lack_ of information that had been <br />provided in the Pleasanton. Weekly. l <br />Chairperson. Pellegrino questioned whether there needed to be.a brainstormingsession of the <br />Commission to discuss marketing and ways of reaching us to the public.
