Wheeler commented on meetings held by different groups and Ms. Whitney discussed <br />community outreach by the department that is being put in place and suggested staff do further <br />research on this and provide information to the Commission. <br />Chairperson Pellegrino agreed and felt an action plan should be discussed and the <br />Commissioners discuss how to support the plan. <br />Commissioner Wedge-Bonde felt it was important to obtain information from others who are <br />able to assist and can also get information out to the community. Chairperson Pellegrino <br />agreed and felt it was important that the Commission be able to play a role in getting this done. <br />Further information discussed included networking with. local businesses. putting information in <br />shopping bags, the Activities Guide, on Constant Contact, and having a banner on the <br />Pleasanton arch. It was agreed a campaign. was needed to promote the department and get <br />information. out to the community. <br />Commissioner Wheeler discussed involving seniors and Commissioner Morales discussed a <br />"Remind" app used by students that could be used to distribute information. <br />Commissioner Casey questioned if the City of Pleasanton, had a list of events that should be <br />celebrated and should consider putting together an `Event Planning Standard". <br />Commissioners discussed other events that could be celebrated in the future. <br />STAFF COMMENTS <br />5. Civic Arts Project Status Report. <br />Ms, Whitney reviewed the Civic Arts Project Status Report with Commissions.. Commissioners <br />indicated that they found the report very helpful. <br />6. Joint Civic Arts Commission and Library Commission Meeting October 7, 2019 <br />Ms. Whitney provided information about the scheduled joint meeting on October 7, 2019 with <br />the Civic Arts and Library Commissions. <br />Chairperson Pellegrino discussed with Ms. Whitney planned arrangements for running the <br />meeting and introduction of the.new Teen.
