Commissioner Hayes wanted to assure Commissioner Lem that any comments and recommendations she makes to the Human Services Commission are important and well considered by the commission. Commissioner Clare agreed and stated that it is not the intent of this commission that youth members are not an asset. Commissioner Sedlak also- agreed and felt it was important for all members of the commission to always involve the youth member and ask for their input. A motion was made by Commissioner Sedlak, seconded by Commissioner Rubino Brumm, recommending youth commission members of the Human -Services. Commission be allowed to . vote only when two regular members of the commission are not, in attendance ata meeting. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: Commissioners Powers, Sedlak and Rubino, Brumm, NOES: Commissioners Carlucci, Clare, Hayes and Chairperson Parikh ABSENT: Commissioner Gohil ABSTAIN: None Commissioner Clare felt the motion did not take into consideration the earlier concern raised about a youth. member on the commission needing more time to fully understand- about the work of commission and all the agencies that request funding. Commissioner Hayes discussed with Ms. Thomas the nature of grants that are considered by the Youth Commission. A motion was made by.
