■ The Veteran's Memorial grand opening occurred in concurrence with the <br />Veteran's Memorial weekend celebrations on November 12, 2016. <br />■ The conceptual design of the entry and south hill improvements was completed <br />on May 21, 2018 and City Council approved the entry and wayfinding <br />improvements in the mid-term budget as CIP 18750. <br />■ The conceptual design of the entry and south hill improvements was completed <br />on May 21, 2018 and City Council approved the entry and wayfinding <br />improvements in the mid-term budget as CIP 18750. <br />■ Construction of Phase 2, the storage and parking area, was substantially <br />completed in May and City Council accepted the project on August 21, 2018 after <br />the completion of the maintenance period. <br />■ On February 22, 2019 the City authorized their on-call consultant, Callander <br />Associates, to provide construction documents for Phase 3 of the cemetery. <br />■ City Council prioritized the Pioneer Cemetery Phase 3 improvements on March <br />19, 2019 when Council adopted their two year work plan. <br />■ The design development plans for the Entry and Wayfinding Improvements were <br />submitted to and reviewed by City staff in April. <br />■ The 65% construction documents were submitted to the City on May 31St and the <br />90% construction documents were submitted on June 21. <br />❖ Bids were received and opened on August 8, 2019. Suarez and Munoz Construction <br />was the low bidder at $394,240. <br />❖ City Council approved the plans and specifications and awarded the bid to Suarez <br />and Munoz Construction on August.20, 2019. <br />❖ The City authorized the consultant, Callander Associates, to proceed with the 4th <br />phase of the cemetery improvements — the South Hill Improvement — on September <br />12, 2019. <br />❖ Construction for the Entry and Wayfinding Improvements began on September 16, <br />2019. <br />VALLEY TRAILS PARK <br />Valley Trails Park will be impacted by the improvements proposed for the Sycamore at <br />Valley Trails housing project. The neighborhood has requested park improvements to <br />be constructed as part of the Conditions of Approval for the housing project. <br />Improvements are'proposed to include a new restroom, tot lot, and landscape <br />improvements. <br />Project status: Project approved by City Council on May 2, 2017. <br />■ The plans for the development, including the plans for the park improvements, <br />were approved -in late June. <br />■ The City received the developer contribution of $177,800 on July 24, 2018 for the <br />park improvements. <br />■ The City requested a survey be completed of the tot lot area on September 18, <br />2018. <br />■ A public outreach meeting for the Valley Trails neighborhood was held on <br />Saturday March 2, 2019 to discuss the tot lot design.
