contractor in the fall and fixing of the roof and other areas will need to be conducted_ before <br />solar installation can take place. <br />Commissioners were informed that the Food. Pantry had served a total of 838 Pleasanton <br />residents, summer and winter items had been provided to the homeless as well as a holiday <br />meal and program. Over 700 children.had been provided with back -to -school backpacks. <br />The Shiloh Shelter had served three Pleasanton residents and Tri -Valley Haven had hoped to <br />provide 25 units of counseling but had provided 23 units. The goal for Sojourner House was to <br />provide 60 -units of service to five. Pleasanton residents and only one person received 34 -units. <br />Commissioner Carlucci asked about the amount of time clients could stay at the shelters, <br />Commissioner Powers asked about the number of adults and children in Sojourner House, and <br />Commissioner Rubino Brumm questioned what items ,individuals were. provided with when they <br />exited one of the shelters. Commissioner Clare was provided information about the County . <br />Coordinated Entry program. <br />Information about the Tri -Valley Haven counseling office in Pleasanton was provided and it <br />was noted that 48 individuals were served for a total of 329 units. <br />Hope Hospice —Grief Support Center and Hospice Volunteer Program — no representative <br />attended. <br />Pleasanton Unified School District — Student Health Services- no representative attended., -A <br />report was. read ' by Mr. Silva -that provided, information about the vision and dental services that <br />PUSD had been able to provide to a number of students with the funding they -had received. <br />Open Heart Kitchen (OHK) - Senior Meal Program - Commissioners were advised that OHK. <br />provides services 5 -days per at the Senior Center and Ridgeview Commons, as well as a <br />weekend bag program for students and a hot -meal program with a total of 24,000 meals being <br />served. They were advised that OHK works with other nonprofits and receive a number of <br />donated items. <br />Commissioner Sedlak questioned whether. OHK had enough funds to continue providing <br />services, Commissioner Carlucci asked for additional information about the bagged lunch <br />program for students and Commissioner Rubino Brumm .questioned whether other agencies <br />were also providing bagged lunches.. <br />Spectrum Community Services — Meals on Wheels for Pleasanton Homebound Elderly - <br />thanks were given for the funding receipted. Spectrum had hoped to -serve 90 Pleasanton <br />residents but were able to provide meals to 123 residents. A waitlist is in place with <br />approximately five Pleasanton residents on the list. Spectrum provides well -checks on clients <br />when delivering meals and provides meals seven days a week -to some clients. Information <br />about a "Feed Need" event being held at the Amador Recreation Center on September 5t1 was <br />provided. <br />Human Services Commission <br />September 4, 2019 <br />Page 3. <br />
