Mr. Ingram asked about the number of days per week that the programs are provided. Ms. <br />Correia advised that services are provided 5 -days per week and participants are age 22 and <br />over, and the ratio of students to advisor is three -to -one <br />3. Public Comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda. <br />None. <br />MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION <br />4. Review and Discuss the Library and Recreation Department Strategic Plan 2019- <br />2024 <br />Commissioners were informed by Mr. Ingram that with the support and direction of <br />Management Partners the Pleasanton Library and Recreation Department has spent the past <br />year working on the creation of a strategic plan that will guide the department's programs.and <br />services for the next five years. He advised that information from the Library Strategic Plan <br />was taken as background information for the strategic plan along with information collected <br />from staff and community surveys. <br />Mr. Ingram advised that the goal in developing a Library and Recreation Department Strategic <br />Plan was to provide a focused mission, vision, values and goals for the new department and <br />enabling staff to prioritize work plans based upon the new strategic plan. <br />Segments of the Library and Recreation Department Strategic Plan were reviewed by Mr. <br />Ingram and commissioners and included the following: <br />• Mission — Start your journey here; Discover, Connect, Enjoy <br />• Vision — Inspiring a vibrant community <br />• Values — Integrity, Collaboration, Customer Service, Inclusiveness, Innovations <br />• Goals — a) Programs, Plans and Services, b) Community Engagement, Customer <br />Service and Communication, c) Facilities and Technology, and d) Organizational <br />Effectiveness and Talent Management. <br />Mr. Ingram advised that this .Strategic Plan was being shared with all the department <br />Commissions. <br />5. Approve Human Services Commissioner Assignments to Various Committees <br />Ms. Ingram noted that the commission currently has six Alameda County based meetings at <br />which a member of the Commission participates, and at the June 20.1.9 meeting the <br />Commission requested that a seventh meeting me added to the list and commissioner <br />assignments to attend the meetings be reviewed. <br />Human Services Commission <br />August 7, 2019 <br />Page 3 <br />
