A PowerPoint presentation was made by Mr. Gruber outlining the Scope of Work, a <br />Conceptual Plan for the Renovation outlining proposed renovations, resurfacing options, <br />maintenance requirements, bocce court costs over a 10 -year period, and EPDM surface <br />recommendation requiring the lowest level of maintenance with the most consistent level of <br />play. <br />Commissioner Hekl had questions regarding the number of staff hours required to maintain <br />the courts with the Boccemon surface and the increased dues amount that would be <br />required of players. She also asked about using a tarp to protect the courts during wet <br />weather. Ms. Murphy advised that maintenance would be contracted out and would be <br />somewhere in the region of $6-8,000/year and dues would�be)about $100/team/season. Mr. <br />Gruber indicated that there is no pre -made product available to cover the courts and after <br />the drainage system had been renovated the problem "sho.uld, be less of a concern. <br />Commissioner Hekl asked about access to supplies and questioned why staff. was <br />recommending the EPDM surface when the .Bocce group had agreed that Boccemon was an <br />appropriate surface. Mr. Gruber commented on replacement cost''and, issues with crumbling <br />edges that could occur with Boccemon. Ms. Murphy advisedthat staff is looking to be able <br />to provide, a consistent level of play on the courts,with the lowest maintenance cost. <br />Commissioner Wahl discussed long -term: -costs and thought it was important to provide the <br />best courts possible for senior players. S,6e commented on,"expenditures for playing fields <br />for youth and felt as much consideration should be given to facilities used by seniors. <br />Vice Chairperson Deckert/discussed with Mr :Gruber the,costs for maintenance and amount <br />of time required for preparing a court for use,% <br />The meeting was -opened for"publiccomment at 7:20 p.m. <br />Jim.
