Commissioner Hottle discussed with Ms. Soo the matter of an easement through the <br />property. <br />Commissioner Deckert had questions concerning the length of the trail but Mr. Gruber <br />advised that this was not readily available as this will be a connector' to the bigger trail <br />loop..Ms. Soo provided information about the Callippe.Trail and connection with the <br />Spotorno trail when it is completed. <br />Chairperson Bowers commented on this matter being reviewed by the Bicycle <br />Pedestrian and Trails Committee and how they felt. it made sense and will be a good <br />idea. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Deckert, seconded by Commissioner Hottle, to <br />approve the proposal to realign a segment of trail open to the public planned on a <br />3.28 -acre site at 990 Sycamore Road. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: <br />AYES: <br />Commissioners Deckert, Hottle and Chairperson Bowers. <br />NOES: <br />None <br />ABSENT: <br />Commissioners Fields, Hekl, and Wahl. <br />ABSTAIN: <br />None <br />5. Review of Proposed Fee Changes for Callippe Preserve Golf Course <br />Ms. Yurchak noted that the Commission is responsible for reviewing golf fees to <br />determine if an increase is warranted. She advised that green fees were last adjusted in <br />July 2017 and cart fees were last adjusted in July 2016. <br />Ms. Yurchak advised that she and golf course manager Adam Pohll from CourseCo <br />would review with them a PowerPoint presentation. Adam covered the following: 1) <br />Callippe has a total of 65 staff year round that includes a General Manager, Course <br />Superintendent, Golf Pro, and Food & Beverage Manager; 2) has received a number of <br />awards and recognitions; 4) besides golf offers a variety of programs and events; 5) <br />planned improvements include hole renovations, leveling of tee boxes, replacing kitchen <br />equipment, repainting of range poles, drainage improvements, and new golf carts with - <br />GPS; and 6) preserving Club membership. Additionally, Adam discussed the number of <br />golf rounds played since 2013, commenting on the -decline during the past year due to <br />heavy rains. <br />Ms. Yurchak discussed the proposed fee increases and finances for the golf course <br />providing a market analysis of competitive golf courses and current fees versus the <br />proposed fee increase. She noted that the proposed fee increase would increase both <br />green fees and cart fees by $1 and if approved by the Commission would become. <br />effective July 31, 2019. <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />May 9, 2019 <br />Page 3 <br />
