• Session 2, full-day: 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., and • Session 3, half-day: 9:30 a.m.-noon As part of the preschool, the proposal includes converting a portion of the landscaped areas along the north and west sides of the subject building to an enclosed (fenced) outdoor play area. Preschoolers would be allowed outside in groups up to 56 children twice a day between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for 20 minutes at a time. The applicant is proposing a maximum of 120 preschool students at any given time, within six classrooms. There would be approximately 18 full-time staff at any one time. Empire Montessori is proposing to retain the same preschool model as currently used at their sister school location, where parents/guardians drop their children off during the children's allotted session and the children would participate in programs until their parents/guardians pick them up. Empire Montessori will not offer transportation service for children attending the preschool.
