■ RHAA, the design consultant, submitted their recommended renovation for the three <br />courts on March 20, 2018. <br />■ The City requested proposals for the design of construction plans for the basketball <br />courts from their three on-call landscape architectural consultants on April 11. Based on <br />the proposals the City hired the most experienced consultant, Callander Associates, with <br />the slip -sheet overlay system which was determined to provide the City with the best life <br />expectancy vs. cost. The City authorized design of construction documents for the courts <br />on April 24. <br />■ The project was advertised for bid in July 2018. <br />■ The project was awarded by City Council on August 21, 2018 to the lowest (and sole) <br />bidder on the project, Vintage Contractors; Inc. for the amount of $373,570.20; which was <br />approximately $15,000 under the engineer's estimate. <br />■ The half court tennis court with ball wall was added to the project and approved as a <br />change order in early September. <br />■ Construction began on September 17, 2018. <br />❖ Construction was substantially complete on November 23, 2018. <br />Bocce Ball Court Renovation <br />The two bocce ball courts at Centennial Park are in need of renovation. <br />Project status: Design is underway <br />❖ On October 25, 2018 the .City authorized Callander Associates Landscape Architecture to <br />provide design services for the renovation of the two bocce ball courts.at Centennial Park to <br />improve the drainage, lighting, shade, surfacing, and facilities'and provide ADA access <br />improvements. <br />❖ City staff met with the Bocce Committee on November 15, 2018 to discuss the proposed <br />bocce. ball court renovation project. <br />❖ On January 2, 2019 the City posted a survey regarding bocce court surfacing preferences. <br />The survey closed on January 22, 2019 with 24 completed surveys. <br />The City presented the conceptual design and survey results to the Bocce Committee on <br />January 23, 2019 and received feedback regarding the design. <br />❖ During February and March the City met with or spoke with various bocce ball court <br />managers to determine maintenance requirements for various types of courts. <br />❖ City Council prioritized the bocce ball courts on March 19, 2019 when Council adopted their <br />two year work plan. <br />Transportation Corridor Parking Lot <br />The City purchased the Alameda County Transportation Corridor (the old railroad right-of-way) <br />through downtown Pleasanton in 2008 with a goal of continuing the regional trail and adding <br />more parking to downtown. In 2017 City Council set aside $2.2 million to improve the corridor <br />between Bernal Avenue and Abbie Street. In 2018 the City hired HMH Engineers to design the <br />corridor and proceeded to reach out to adjacent property owners to discuss the project. <br />Project status: Design is underway <br />❖ On January 9, 2019 the consultant, HMH Engineers, provided the concept.plan to the City. <br />•:� The concept design was presented to the BPTC on February 25, 2019. <br />Page 8. <br />
