BACKGROUND
The City has employed professional collective bargaining services consistently over the
past ten years. As labor relations and collective bargaining became increasingly
complex, the City found success in enlisting additional support in collective bargaining
and labor relations efforts. As IEDA has been instrumental in the negotiations of
numerous labor contracts with the City, it is desirable to continue our working
relationship with this successor agreement.
DISCUSSION
The City has been utilizing services from IEDA regarding labor relations services for the
past several years. These services include assisting with the collective bargaining with
the City's three organized labor groups, the International Association of Firefighters
Local 1974, the Pleasanton Police Officers' Association and the Pleasanton City
Employees' Association/AFSCME Local 955. IEDA provides advise, consulting,
research and analysis regarding the collective bargaining process as well as matters
relating to employment conditions and employer-employee relations. Additional training
services for managers and supervisors will be provided as needed. The annual
payments in this agreement are $59,520 in year one, $61,608 in year two and $63,768
in year three for a total of$184,896.
Sub itted by: ..
