Section 10. Tuition and Book Reimbursement <br /> Upon approval of the Department Head and City Manager, management and <br /> confidential employees shall be reimbursed tuition expenses for job-related courses <br /> successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better from a college or university <br /> accredited by one of the Association of Schools and Colleges (standardized list of <br /> Associations established by the Human Resources Department). <br /> The maximum amount of tuition and fee reimbursement an employee can receive per <br /> fiscal year shall not exceed the total tuition and fees1 levied by California State <br /> University East Bay for the academic year beginning in the fall of each year. The <br /> "academic year" is currently defined as the "fall semester and the spring semester." <br /> Management and confidential employees can be reimbursed for books required for <br /> college or university courses approved by the City Manager and successfully <br /> completed with a grade of "C" or better. The maximum reimbursement for books an <br /> employee may receive shall not exceed $300 per fiscal year. To be reimbursed, the <br /> employee must submit receipts from the college or university and proof of grades <br /> received. <br /> Section 11. Education Incentive Pay <br /> Upon reaching the control point of their salary grade, regular confidential employees <br /> shall be eligible for educational incentive pay for educational degrees from a college or <br /> university accredited by one of the Association of Schools and Colleges (standardized <br /> list of Associations established by the Human Resources Department). The degree <br /> must be beyond that required by the employee's classification. The amount of said <br /> pay shall be as follows: <br /> 2.5 % AA degree <br /> 5 % BS/BA degree <br /> The reimbursable fees are the Student Body Fee, IRA Fee, Facility Fee, University Union Fee, ID Fee and University Union Recreational <br /> Fee. <br /> Page 26 of 44 <br />
