15.6-5 FMLA Family, Medical and Pregnancy Disability Leave <br /> The Det City will abide by Federal and State Family Leave Acts all federal and state family, <br /> medical and pregnancy disability leave laws. <br /> 15.7-6 Catastrophic Leave <br /> The DepartmentC will implement maintain a Catastrophic Leave Policy as outlined in Appendix B to <br /> this MOU. <br /> 15.87 Bereavement Leave <br /> Employees are entitled to paid leave from duty (including shift trade days) for up to two (2) shifts (48 <br /> hours) for fire suppression personnel and up to forty (40) hours for fire prevention/40-hour personnel in <br /> order to attend the funeral or memorial service of an immediate family member and/or to assist with <br /> matters relating to the decedent's estate. Employees may utilize other paid leaves (including_sick leave) <br /> to extend bereavement leave when approved by the Fire Chief. <br /> - - - • . • ' - . r paid leaves (including sick leave) to extend bereavement leave, subject to <br /> approval of the Fire Chief. <br /> In this context only, For purposed of this provision, immediate family shall be defined as: spouse, <br /> domestic partner, child, foster child who resided with the employee at the time of his/her death, <br /> stepchild, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, stepbrother, <br /> sister, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, spouse's grandmother, spouse's <br /> grandfather, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or grandchildren. <br /> 15.8 15.815.9 Union Leave Bank <br /> A. Leave Donations <br /> Effective the first full pay period in July of each year, each-active bargaining unit employee may <br /> voluntarily elect to contribute to the Union Leave Bank by reducing his/her their individual <br /> vacation accrual by fear-six (46) hours for 56 hour personnel and either two (2) four(4) hours of <br /> vacation accrual or compensatory time for 40 hour personnel. The contribution will be credited to <br /> the Union Leave Bank. If, at the end of any fiscal year, the Union Leave Bank has a balance of <br /> more than 7191500 hours, the exchange contribution of hours described above will not occur for <br /> that fiscal year. <br /> Employees hired during the year will have no deduction until the following fiscal year's leave <br /> bank transfer. Employees separating employment during the year will receive no credit for or <br /> return of hours contributed to the Union Leave Bank. <br /> 30 <br />
