Commissioners <br /> were advised that all band members are Pleasanton residents. <br /> Les Duman, Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council — commented on the Community and <br /> Opportunity Awareness grant submitted by Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council for a project that <br /> includes marketing, advertising and other outreach in the community, so a stronger awareness <br /> can be made for programs and opportunities provided through PCAC. <br /> Mr. Duman also advised that PCAC has submitted a grant for the Ignite event and a two-day <br /> celebration of Japanese art exhibit. <br /> Denise Bridge, Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center— Ms. Bridge advised that if a grant is <br /> awarded LVPAC would like to add addition schools and more variety to the program they <br /> provided at Fairland and Donlon Schools this year. She thanked the Commission for their past <br /> grants and advised that an additional grant has been submitted to East Bay Jazz. <br /> Chairperson Jellison closed the meeting for presentations at 7:23 p.m. <br /> Ms. Crose provided information about the Commissioner funding recommendations through <br /> ZoomGrant results and the Olympic average allocation from these recommendations. <br /> Chairperson Jellison noted for the record that she and Commissioner Wedge-Bonde sit on the <br /> Board of the Museum on Main. <br /> Commissioner Pellegrino commented on the difference of $384 between the Olympic Average <br /> allocation amount and the $42,670.61 in funds available for granting. <br /> Chairperson Jellison commented on discussions from the last Commission meeting regarding <br /> reports being provided late by some agencies. <br /> Mr. Duman informed the Commission that Pleasanton Cultural Art Council would be wiling to <br /> have their funding recommendation reduced by the $384 amount. <br /> Commissioner Nene questioned a recommendation the Commission had made at an earlier <br /> meeting to allocate $2,670.61 from the grant funds towards the Ignite project. <br /> Commissioner Steenman had questions about giving grant money for specific equipment <br /> items, such as the sound equipment being request by Cantabella Children's Chorus. He <br /> commented on the difficulty of being able to indicate the benefit of such to the community. <br /> Commissioner Casey agreed and wondered if the City of Pleasanton could agree to buying <br /> equipment, so it could be made available to other groups. Mr. Patrick advised that grant <br /> allocation can be granted for these types of capital projects. <br /> Commissioner Wedge-Bonde commented on this being a question that was raised several <br /> years ago. Ms. Crose advised that the Commission has funded similar items in the past.
