of Portola Avenue crossing. West of Hacienda Drive interchange on-ramp relocation up
to approximately 140 feet. Modifications to interchanges are required at: Dougherty
Road/Hopyard Road, Tassajara Road/Santa Rita Road, Fallon Road/EI Charro Road,
Airway Boulevard, and Isabel Avenue. Frontage roads in this section also require
modifications. Frontage roads in this section also require modifications.
• Express Bus — Modifications extend for 2.2 miles along 1-580. Typical relocation by 88
feet from west of Dougherty Road to the Tassajara Road to the Tassajara Road/Santa
Rita Road overcrossing. At the Dublin/Pleasanton Station, relocation up to 100 feet.
Modifications to interchanges are required at: Dougherty Road/Hopyard Road,
Hacienda Drive, and Tassajara Road. Frontage roads in Dublin require modifications
as well.
Station Modification and Parking Requirements
• Conventional BART — A new platform in the 1-580 median, with pedestrian
overcrossings to bus facility at Isabel North and station parking at Isabel South.
Additionally, a new two-story end-of-line operations building is also needed. In terms of
parking, the Isabel Station requires a total of 3,412 parking spaces: 2,835 in a seven-
level parking structure and 577 parking spaces in two surface parking lots.
• DMU/EMU — A new transfer platform on the north side of the Dublin/Pleasanton station
is required, in addition to new 0.3 mile tail track for BART car storage west of the
station. For the Isabel Station, similar modifications are needed as the Conventional
BART project. Parking at the Isabel Station requires a total of 2,428 parking spaces in a
six-level parking structure.
• Express Bus/BRT Alternative — At the Dublin/Pleasanton Station new bus transfer
platforms are needed north and south of the BART station platform. To access the
platforms, a new bus-only ramp from 1-580 express lanes to the station is required. The
track also requires an extension of 0.1 miles east. Parking relocate approximately 210
existing parking spaces to either (1) a surface lot adjacent to existing lot south of 1-580;
or (2) a three-level parking structure on the existing BART lot south of 1-580. At
Laughlin Road, new surface parking lot with approximately 230 parking spaces.
• Enhanced Bus Alternative — No station modifications are required.
Ridership
The Dublin Pleasanton station is the current "end of line" station and because of this, the
station receives a large number of riders from outside of the Dublin Pleasanton area
(Livermore and the Central Valley). The station parking lots located on the Dublin and
Pleasanton side are completely full by 6:00 AM limiting local access to the station.
Extension of Bart to Livermore creates a new "end of line" station in Livermore at the Isabel
Interchange. The Proposed Project includes a 3,400 space parking structure. This new station
in Livermore allows for greater use of the Dublin Pleasanton station for Dublin and Pleasanton
residents. The image shows where new riders will originate.
