4. Recommendations for foundation type and design criteria, including bearing capacity, provisions <br />to mitigate the effects of liquefaction and soil strength, and the effects of adjacent loads. <br />5. Expected total and differential settlement. <br />6. Drainage and erosion control recommendations <br />7. Minimum building setbacks to slope tops or toes. <br />8. Equivalent-fluid-density lateral loads used in design of retaining walls or basement wails. <br />9. Ground response evaluation by geologist licensed in California for <br /> a. flexible structures located on site having soft to medium cohesionless soils in upper 50 <br />feet and depth to bedrock is 400 feet or greater, and <br /> b. structures having irregular shapes, framing systems, or other unusual features as <br />determined by the building official. <br />10. Liquefaction evaluation for the following uses: <br /> a. Subdivisions of Group R-3 occupancy having 100 units or more; <br /> b. Apartment or condominium complexes of Group R-1 occupancy having 50 or <br />more units; <br /> c. Structure of four or more stories or over 35 feet high; <br /> d. Commercial, industrial, and institutional projects having 250 occupants or <br />more; <br /> e. Essential facilities. <br />11. Slope stability evaluation in areas subject to localized or major landslides. <br />12. Surface rupture evaluation by geologist licensed in California for all projects for human <br />occupancy located with a Geologic Hazards Special Studies Zone, as mapped by the California <br />Division of Mines and Geology. <br />13. Soils report shall specify soil profile type according to Section 1629.3.1 and Table 16-J <br />of the Uniform Building Code. <br /> <br /> All site improvements shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the <br />recommendations contained in the soil report. <br /> <br />20.08.066 Section 1804.10 added - Review. <br /> <br />Section 1804.10 of the California Building Standards Code 1998 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and <br />including by reference the Uniform Building code, 1997 Edition, Parts 1, 2 and 3 is added to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />1804.10 Review. Prior to issuing a permit for a building where soil and foundation investigation <br />has been required, the Geotechnical Engineer or Civil Engineer who prepared the soil <br />investigation shall state in writing (must be signed and stamped): <br /> <br />1. The plans and specifications substantially conform to the recommendations in the soil <br />investigation. <br />2. The Geotechnical Engineer or Civil Engineer who prepared the soil investigation has <br />been retained to provide soil site observation and provide periodic and final reports to the city. <br /> <br /> 39 <br /> <br /> <br />
