subject to net tensile forces as part of the Lateral Force Resisting System shall be tested in <br />accordance with AISC Seismic Part I Section 16. This testing shall be a part of the special <br />inspection requirements of Section 1701.5. A program for this testing shall be established by the <br />person responsible for structural design and as shown on plans and specifications. <br /> <br /> 20.08.048 Section 904.2 amended - Automatic Fire Extinguishing Systems. <br /> <br /> Section 904.2 of the Califomia Building Standards Code 1998 Edition (24 C.C.R.), and <br />including by reference the Uniform Building Code Parts 1, 2 and 3, is amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> 9.04.2 Automatic Fire Extinguishing Systems <br /> <br /> 904.2.1 Where required. An automatic fire extinguishing system shall be installed in the <br />occupancies and locations as set forth in this section. <br /> 904.2 An automatic fire extinguishing system or other approved fire suppression <br />system(s) shall be installed as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. In every story and basement of all occupancies exceeding 8,000 square feet. <br /> <br /> Exceptions: <br /> <br /> 1. Group R, Division 3 Occupancies. <br /> 2. Group U, Division 1 private garages of 1,000 square feet or less. <br /> 3. Group U, Division 2 Occupancies. <br /> <br /> 2. All buildings over 5 minutes response time, as determined by the Fire chief, from a <br />City fire station. <br /> <br /> 3. Any structure in any area or location determined by the Fire Chief to be a high fire <br /> hazard. High fire hazard area shall be defined as those areas beyond five minutes driving <br /> time of fire apparatus from the fire station serving those particular districts; or areas <br /> determined by the Fire Chief to be either high hazard areas or extreme hazard areas based <br /> on steepness of slope and/or fuel loadings from combustible plant materials as set forth in <br /> the Safety Element of the General Plan. <br /> <br /> 20.08.049 - Added - City of Pleasanton Sprinkler Standard 9-3: <br /> <br /> Uniform Building Code Standard 9-3 amended--Installation of Sprinkler Systems in <br /> Residential Occupancies. <br /> <br /> UBC Standard 9-3 is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
