vertical clearance between grade and the bottom of the barrier shall be 2 inches (51 mm) <br /> measured on the side of the barrier that faces away from the swimming pool. The <br /> maximum vertical clearance at the bottom of the barrier may be increased to face away <br /> from the swimming pool. The maximum vertical clearance at the bottom of the barrier <br /> may be increased to 4 inches (102 mm) when grade is a solid surface such as concrete <br /> deck, or when the barrier is mounted on the top of the aboveground pool structure. <br /> When barriers have horizontal members spaced less than 45 inches (1143 mm) apart, the <br /> horizontal members shall be placed on the pool side of the barrier. Any decorative design <br /> work on the side away from the swimming pool, such as protrusions, indentations or <br /> cutouts, which render the barrier easily climbable, is prohibited. <br /> <br /> 20.08.044 Section 1701.5 Item 5.2 amended- Special moment-resisting steel frames <br /> <br /> Section 1701.5 Item 5.2 of the Califomia Building Standards Code 1998 Edition, (24 <br />C.C.R.), and including by reference the Uniform Building Code 1997 Edition, Parts 1, 2 and 3 is <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 5.2 Special moment-resisting steel. In Seismic Zones 3 and 4, and in buildings in <br />Seismic Zone No. 2 with an importance factor I greater than 1.0, welded joints in Special, <br />Ordinary and Special Truss Moment Frames; in Special and Ordinary Concentrically Braced <br />Frames, and in Eccentrically Braced Frames that are part of the Lateral Force Resisting System <br />shall be inspected in accordance with AISC Seismic Part I Section 16. In addition to Item 5.1 <br />requirements, nondestructive testing shall be as required by Section 1703 of this code. <br /> <br /> 20.08.045 - Amended - Section 904.1.2 Standards - Fire Extinguishing Systems. <br /> <br /> Section 904.1.2 of the California Building Standards Code 1998 Edition (24 C.C.R.), and <br />including by reference the Uniform Building Code Parts 1, 2, and 3 is amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Standards. Fire-extinguishing systems shall comply with City of Pleasanton Sprinkler <br />Standard 9-3 (1999 Edition) for one to fifteen family dwelling units (not exceeding 12,000 sf in <br />any one building), and UBC Standard 9-1 for all other occupancies. <br /> <br /> 20.08.046 Section 1703 first paragraph only amended - NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING <br /> <br /> Section 1703 of the Califomia Building Standards Code 1998 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and <br />including by reference the Uniform Building Code 1997 Edition, Parts 1, 2 and 3 is amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> 1703.
