3.4 Building Faqade Treatments:

Visually interesting and articulated designs as opposed to flat and unadomed
treatments are required on each facade. Design features should be utilized to
lessen the impact of two-story facades.

The building design on all elevations should be coordinated with regard to
color, texture, materials, finishes, and architectural form and detailing to
achieve design harmony and continuity.

Flat two-story wall elevations are discouraged. Side and rear elevations will be
judged just as critically as the street elevations during the design review proc-
ess. The degree of design detailing, variation, and finish shown on the front
elevation shall be carried through to the side and rear building elevations.

· All door and window openings should be properly trimmed. Trim should be
compatible with the architectural style of the structure.

· Avoid over mixing the number and variety of materials and window types used
on the structure.

3.5 Roof Design:

Roof shape, color, and texture shall harmonize with the color and architectural
treatment of the structure's exterior walls. Avoid over mixing hip-style roofs,
gable-style roofs, and shed-style roofs, and changes in roof pitches when de-
signing the structure's rooflines.

· Limited flat roofs are allowed where appropriate to an acceptable architectural
form.

3.6 Garage Doors:

Minimize the visual impact of garage doors on the front building elevation by pro-
viding side-entry garage door.

Section 4.0 Materials/Colors:

In an effort to maintain a continuity of identity, high quality, and high material integrity,
the following materials and/or colors are encouraged and discouraged.

PUD-27, Final CC Design Guidelines Page 3 of 8 September 2, 2003
