After considerable discussion regarding this matter, it was moved by Councilman <br />Bubics and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the City <br />Staff be instructed to make such revisions as were discussed and place the re- <br />vised Ordinance on the City Council agenda for January 24th, 1966. <br />The roll call vote was as follows:, <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Tract No. 2796 Pleasanton Valle Unit No roval of Final Subdivision Ma .• <br />Subdivision Agreement <br />Mr. Fales stated that this map and improvement plans have been checked, the sub- <br />division agreement has been prepared for approval and all necessary fees have been <br />paid. However, an unusual arrangement of street lighting is in question. Mr. <br />Fales read a letter from Mr. T. A. Weaver, General Superintendent, D &V Builders, <br />Inc., indicating a desire to utilize a gas lighting system as an alternative to <br />the typical street lighting system. Mr. Weaver stated that it was his personal <br />opinion that it is not only the equivalent of electrical overhead lighting systems <br />but places more light on the sidewalks, is esthetically more beautiful and will be <br />operated without any cost to the City, as these gas lights are paid for by the <br />homeowner. Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, stated that he and Mr. Weaver <br />had viewed Leisure Town in Vacaville where such a system is in use and that it was <br />most effective. <br />After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by <br />Councilmen Bubics that Resolution No. 66 -7, approving the Final Subdivision Map <br />for Tract No. 2796, and authorizing the City Officers to execute the subdivision <br />agreement with D&V Builders, Inc., be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Proposed Resolution of Regional Water 'ualit Control Board Re: Waste Dilution <br />Effect of Imported Water <br />Mr. Fales stated that on February 17th the Regional Water Quality Control Board <br />will discuss a proposed resolution with regard to making allowance for the waste <br />dilution effect of water imported by parties other than waste dischargers. Mr. <br />Fales indicated that while some parts of the resolution are quite unassailable, <br />other portions should be corrected. <br />Mr. Fales read a draft letter he had prepared to send to the Water Quality Control <br />Board stating the City's position. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that the <br />City Manager be instructed to send this letter to the Bay Area Regional Water <br />Quality Control Board and forward a copy to Zone No. 7. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES : Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Alameda County Sewage Advisory Committee Re: Bay -Delta Water Quality Control <br />Program <br />Mr. Fales read a statement on behalf of the Alameda County Sewage Advisory Commit- <br />tee regarding the proposed "Bay -Delta Water Quality Control Program" to be pre- <br />sented at the hearing held at San Francisco on January 19th. Mr. Fales indicated <br />that the statement contains the same position recently taken by the Association of <br />Bay Area Governments Advisory Committee. Mr. Fales recommended that the City <br />Council endorse this position. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the City <br />of Pleasanton endorse the position taken by the Alameda County Sewage Advisory <br />Committee regarding the proposed "Bay -Delta Water Quality Control Program ", with <br />particular emphasis on Paragraph No. 2. <br />2. <br />
