OPDINANCE FOR ADOPTION (second reading) Ordinance No. 4371. amending Ord. No. 309 Re: Assignment of Zoning Districts, Annexation No. 40 Mr. Struthers read Ordinance No. 437, amending Ordinance No. 309. It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that Ordinance No. 437, amending Ordinance No. 309 assigning Zoning Districts in the area of Annexation No. 40, Kaiser Quarry Annex, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: None MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman Gerton opened the discussion of starting the Council Meetings at an earlier hour. It was decided, on a trial basis, to meet at 7:30 P.M. on Mondays. Mr. Struthers stated that this can be accomplished by adjourning each meeting to a specified time until a final decision is made. Mayor Long suggested that any member of the audience addressing the Council should limit their presentation to .five minutes or ask for time on the agenda. Councilman Harding asked if the Liaison Committee would investigate the reports that the Job Corps has expanded their enrollees::to 2700 and also that they are training Cuban refugees. Mr. Fales stated that this matter would be referred to the Job Corps Liaison Commit- tee. Mayor Long asked Mr. Campbell when the cross -walk would be painted and signs in- stalled at Kottinger Avenue and Mirador Drive. Mr. Campbell replied that due to increased duties of the maintenance men, rain and delay in ordering the signs, this project had been delayed but would probably be accomplished this week. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS; REVIEW OF FINANCIAL REPORTS Councilman Harding initiated discussion on the payment of $260.00 to Logan, Carey and Rehag, for their work in designing the proposed City Seal. After some discussion regarding this matter, it was moved by Councilman McWilliams and seconded by Councilman Gerton that the December Claims in the amount of $36,565.66, be approved for payment. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: Councilman Harding ABSENT: None Mayor Long recessed the meeting at 9:33 P.M. to an Executive Session. Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 9:37 P.M. It was moved by Mayor Long and seconded by Councilman Harding that Resolution No. 66 -6, appointing Mrs. Elizabeth Hall to fill the term vacated by the death of Mr. Earl T.rimingham as Housing Authority Commissioner, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Long appointed Councilman Gerton as the City Council's representative to the Association of Bay Area Governments. Mayor Long recessed the meeting at 9:40 P.M. to a Study Session. Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 11:37 P.M. There being no further business at 11:38 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 7:30 P.M. on January 17, 1965.
