OPDINANCE FOR ADOPTION (second reading) <br />Ordinance No. 4371. amending Ord. No. 309 Re: Assignment of Zoning Districts, <br />Annexation No. 40 <br />Mr. Struthers read Ordinance No. 437, amending Ordinance No. 309. <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman Bubics that Ordinance <br />No. 437, amending Ordinance No. 309 assigning Zoning Districts in the area of <br />Annexation No. 40, Kaiser Quarry Annex, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Gerton opened the discussion of starting the Council Meetings at an <br />earlier hour. It was decided, on a trial basis, to meet at 7:30 P.M. on Mondays. <br />Mr. Struthers stated that this can be accomplished by adjourning each meeting to a <br />specified time until a final decision is made. <br />Mayor Long suggested that any member of the audience addressing the Council should <br />limit their presentation to .five minutes or ask for time on the agenda. <br />Councilman Harding asked if the Liaison Committee would investigate the reports <br />that the Job Corps has expanded their enrollees::to 2700 and also that they are <br />training Cuban refugees. <br />Mr. Fales stated that this matter would be referred to the Job Corps Liaison Commit- <br />tee. <br />Mayor Long asked Mr. Campbell when the cross -walk would be painted and signs in- <br />stalled at Kottinger Avenue and Mirador Drive. Mr. Campbell replied that due to <br />increased duties of the maintenance men, rain and delay in ordering the signs, <br />this project had been delayed but would probably be accomplished this week. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS; REVIEW OF FINANCIAL REPORTS <br />Councilman Harding initiated discussion on the payment of $260.00 to Logan, Carey <br />and Rehag, for their work in designing the proposed City Seal. <br />After some discussion regarding this matter, it was moved by Councilman McWilliams <br />and seconded by Councilman Gerton that the December Claims in the amount of <br />$36,565.66, be approved for payment. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: Councilman Harding <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Long recessed the meeting at 9:33 P.M. to an Executive Session. <br />Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 9:37 P.M. <br />It was moved by Mayor Long and seconded by Councilman Harding that Resolution No. <br />66 -6, appointing Mrs. Elizabeth Hall to fill the term vacated by the death of Mr. <br />Earl T.rimingham as Housing Authority Commissioner, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Long appointed Councilman Gerton as the City Council's representative to the <br />Association of Bay Area Governments. <br />Mayor Long recessed the meeting at 9:40 P.M. to a Study Session. <br />Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 11:37 P.M. <br />There being no further business at 11:38 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Harding <br />and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in <br />Adjourned Regular Session at 7:30 P.M. on January 17, 1965. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />QQQLILcuriaLorell <br />,en Woodward, C y Clerk <br />hn B. <br />
