Assessment District No. 64 -2 Vintage Hills) Mr. Fales reported that Progress Payment No. 14 to Leo F. Piazza Paving Company in the amount of $26,575.23 is now due and payable. It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that Resolution No. 66 -5, authorizing Progress Payment No. 14 in the amount of $26,575.23 to Leo F. Piazza Paving Company for the installation of public improvements in Vintage Hills, Units 2, 3 and 4, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: None afters for the Information of the Council Mr. Fales announced that the children attending Alisal School who have bicycles can obtain their licenses at the Fire House, 4440 Railroad Ave., on Saturday, January 22nd, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4 :00 P.M., and the scheduling of the other school children for this purpose will be announced at a later date. Mr. Fales state that there will be a press release regarding this matter. Mr. Fales also announced that the League of California Cities had scheduled their regular dinner meeting for Friday, January 21st at the Hotel Claremont in Berkeley and Mr. Richard Carpenter, Executive Director,would be the guest speaker. Mr. Fales asked that reservations be made by January 19th. Mr. Fales announced that a meeting of ABAG General Assembly is to be held at 8:45 A.M. on February 25th. Mayor Long stated that a representative to ABAG replacing ex- Councilman Reno Cairo would be discussed later in Executive Session. REPORT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY RE: Amendments to Refuse Collection Ordinance Mr. Struthers read the amendment to the refuse collection ordinance, and the amender agreement establishing new rates for refuse collection. Councilman McWilliams introduced Ordinance No. 438, amending Ordinance No. 238, Refuse Collection Ordinance. COMMUNICATIONS Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. James F. Vivrette, Chairman of the Local Agency Formation Commission, which stated that it would be helpful to their organization as well as Pleasanton and Livermore, if the cities would meet jointly to discuss their respective General Plan areas with particular attention to overlapping boundaries. Mr. Vivrette suggested that a proposed boundary agreement be recommend- ed to the LAFC by July 1, 1966. Mayor Long stated that this matter could be dis- cussed at the next joint Council meeting with the City of Livermore. Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Jack Buchter, Architect for the new St. Augustine's Church, requesting on behalf of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland, that 12.834 acres located at a northerly line of East Angela Street, be annexed to the City of Pleasanton. It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Harding that the Staff be authorized to prepare the necessary documents and submit them to the Local Agency Formation Commission. Mr. Fales stated that a complete report concerning this permit would be presented to the City Council for review and Mr. & Mrs. Davies would be notified in time to present their arguments. 3.
