Assessment District No. 64 -2 <br />Vintage Hills) <br />Mr. Fales reported that Progress Payment No. 14 to Leo F. Piazza Paving Company in <br />the amount of $26,575.23 is now due and payable. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that <br />Resolution No. 66 -5, authorizing Progress Payment No. 14 in the amount of $26,575.23 <br />to Leo F. Piazza Paving Company for the installation of public improvements in <br />Vintage Hills, Units 2, 3 and 4, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />afters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Fales announced that the children attending Alisal School who have bicycles can <br />obtain their licenses at the Fire House, 4440 Railroad Ave., on Saturday, January <br />22nd, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4 :00 P.M., and the scheduling of the other <br />school children for this purpose will be announced at a later date. Mr. Fales state <br />that there will be a press release regarding this matter. <br />Mr. Fales also announced that the League of California Cities had scheduled their <br />regular dinner meeting for Friday, January 21st at the Hotel Claremont in Berkeley <br />and Mr. Richard Carpenter, Executive Director,would be the guest speaker. Mr. <br />Fales asked that reservations be made by January 19th. <br />Mr. Fales announced that a meeting of ABAG General Assembly is to be held at 8:45 <br />A.M. on February 25th. <br />Mayor Long stated that a representative to ABAG replacing ex- Councilman Reno Cairo <br />would be discussed later in Executive Session. <br />REPORT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY RE: Amendments to Refuse Collection Ordinance <br />Mr. Struthers read the amendment to the refuse collection ordinance, and the amender <br />agreement establishing new rates for refuse collection. <br />Councilman McWilliams introduced Ordinance No. 438, amending Ordinance No. 238, <br />Refuse Collection Ordinance. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. James F. Vivrette, Chairman of the Local Agency <br />Formation Commission, which stated that it would be helpful to their organization <br />as well as Pleasanton and Livermore, if the cities would meet jointly to discuss <br />their respective General Plan areas with particular attention to overlapping <br />boundaries. Mr. Vivrette suggested that a proposed boundary agreement be recommend- <br />ed to the LAFC by July 1, 1966. Mayor Long stated that this matter could be dis- <br />cussed at the next joint Council meeting with the City of Livermore. <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Jack Buchter, Architect for the new St. Augustine's <br />Church, requesting on behalf of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Oakland, that 12.834 <br />acres located at a northerly line of East Angela Street, be annexed to the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Harding that the <br />Staff be authorized to prepare the necessary documents and submit them to the Local <br />Agency Formation Commission. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mr. Files read a letter from Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Davies, 4197 Cristobal Way, Pleasan- <br />ton, appealing the decision of the City Staff denying a taxi cab permit by re- <br />questing that the City Council review this matter. <br />Mr. Fales stated that a complete report concerning this permit would be presented <br />to the City Council for review and Mr. & Mrs. Davies would be notified in time to <br />present their arguments. <br />3. <br />
