Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. B. R. Stokes, General Manager of the Bay Area Rapid <br />Transit District, listing the final BART station names that were adopted by resolu- <br />tion on December 9, 1965. <br />Mr. Fales read a communication from Mr. A. F. Schumacher, Vice President of the <br />Stoneson Development Corporation, dated December 23rd, requesting annexation pro- <br />ceedings be initiated to annex a small parcel of land which is surrounded by the <br />original holdings of the Stoneson property. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Harding that the City <br />Staff be authorized to prepare the necessary documents for submittal to the Local <br />Agency Formation Committee. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ORDINANCES FOR ADOPTION (second reading) were not scheduled for this meeting. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Mayor Long stated that he had received a letter from Mrs. Edetha Special asking that <br />the "retort" be replaced by a "rose" in the proposed City Seal. <br />Mayor Long recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11 :23 P.M. for the pur- <br />pose of considering appointments to the Recreation Commission. <br />Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 11:30 P.M., whereupon Resolution No. 66 -3, <br />appointing Mr. Donald F. Anger, 541 St. Mary St., Mr. Edward W. Niepoth, 4092 <br />Graham St., Mr. William J. Herlihy, 816 Abbie St., and Mr. Robert I. Reid, 4525 <br />Mirador Drive, as members of the Recreation Commission, was moved by Mayor Long <br />and seconded by Councilman Harding. <br />A roll call vote indicated the following: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Long then moved, seconded by Councilman McWilliams, and carried unanimously, <br />that Mr. Ted C. Fairfield, 7574 San Sabana Road, Dublin, be appointed as an ex- <br />officio, non - voting member of the Recreation Commission until such time as he be- <br />comes an elector of the City of Pleasanton, whereupon it is the Council's intention <br />to appoint him as a full member of the Recreation Commission. <br />There being no further business, it was moved by Councilman Harding, seconded by <br />Councilman Gerton, and carried unanimously, at 11:35 P.M., that the meeting be <br />adjourned, to meet again in regular session at 8:00 P.M., January 10, 1966. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />L L tanzia <br />Helen Woodward, City Clerk <br />3. <br />
