Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. B. R. Stokes, General Manager of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District, listing the final BART station names that were adopted by resolu- tion on December 9, 1965. Mr. Fales read a communication from Mr. A. F. Schumacher, Vice President of the Stoneson Development Corporation, dated December 23rd, requesting annexation pro- ceedings be initiated to annex a small parcel of land which is surrounded by the original holdings of the Stoneson property. It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Harding that the City Staff be authorized to prepare the necessary documents for submittal to the Local Agency Formation Committee. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: None ORDINANCES FOR ADOPTION (second reading) were not scheduled for this meeting. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Mayor Long stated that he had received a letter from Mrs. Edetha Special asking that the "retort" be replaced by a "rose" in the proposed City Seal. Mayor Long recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11 :23 P.M. for the pur- pose of considering appointments to the Recreation Commission. Mayor Long reconvened the meeting at 11:30 P.M., whereupon Resolution No. 66 -3, appointing Mr. Donald F. Anger, 541 St. Mary St., Mr. Edward W. Niepoth, 4092 Graham St., Mr. William J. Herlihy, 816 Abbie St., and Mr. Robert I. Reid, 4525 Mirador Drive, as members of the Recreation Commission, was moved by Mayor Long and seconded by Councilman Harding. A roll call vote indicated the following: AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Long then moved, seconded by Councilman McWilliams, and carried unanimously, that Mr. Ted C. Fairfield, 7574 San Sabana Road, Dublin, be appointed as an ex- officio, non - voting member of the Recreation Commission until such time as he be- comes an elector of the City of Pleasanton, whereupon it is the Council's intention to appoint him as a full member of the Recreation Commission. There being no further business, it was moved by Councilman Harding, seconded by Councilman Gerton, and carried unanimously, at 11:35 P.M., that the meeting be adjourned, to meet again in regular session at 8:00 P.M., January 10, 1966.
