MiNOrES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton. California <br />February 8, 1965 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in regular session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor <br />Long presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics, <br />Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long present. Councilman Cairo absent. Mr. Fales, <br />City Manager, Mr. Struthers, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, City Engineer and Mrs. <br />Woodward, City Clerk were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Councilman McWilliams and seconded by Councilman <br />Harding that the minutes of January 4th, llth, 18th, and 25th be approved with the <br />following corrections: January llth minutes should read 'Mayor Long reconvened the <br />meeting at 9 :00 P.M. January 18th minutes should be inserted "Mayor Long asked <br />for an informal show of hands from the audience regarding their favor or disfavor of <br />the proposed Job Corps center at Camp Parks" prior to the recessing the meeting at <br />11 :30 P.M. and that typographical errors be corrected. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL <br />Mrs. Charlotte Jessup asked if the matter of the safeway store location at Santa Rita <br />Rd. and Black Avenue was to be discussed at this meeting Mr. Fales advised her that <br />Safeway Stores has not made application as yet and this matter would not be formally <br />before the City until it is received. <br />Mr. Charles Miller expressed concern for public safety regarding the intersection at <br />Santa Rita Road at Jensen Street. Mayor Long instructed the City staff to investigat <br />this situation. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of the Planning Commission for amendments to certain portions of Article <br />14, Ord. No. 309, concerning Industrial Park Districts <br />Mayor Long declared the public hearing on the above matter, open. Mr. Fales read <br />the report of the Planning Commission, dated January 15, 1965. He also called <br />particular attention to the items that were proposed to be changed in the Proposed <br />General Plan. <br />The City Clerk reported that there had been no written public hearing communications. <br />There being no written or oral protests, it was moved by Councilman Bubics and <br />seconded by Councilman Harding that the Public Hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Bubics, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo <br />Councilman Harding introduced Ordinance No. 404, an ordinance ammending certain <br />portions of Article 14, Ordinance No. 309, concerning Industrial Park Districts. <br />It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman McWilliams that the <br />reading of Ordinance No. 404 be waived. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Cairo <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS were not presented at this meeting. <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Annexation No. 34, "Berry Farm" Annex. Mr. Fales advised the Council that this pro- <br />posed annexation has been approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission, and <br />proceedings may now be initiated. Mr. Fales stated that the Planning Commission <br />recommended this annexation by report of July 3, 1964, to be zoned C -T (Thoroughfare <br />Commercial.) A public protest hearing date for this matter of April 5, 1965 was <br />recommended by Mr. Fales. <br />
