Mattars for the information of the Council <br />Water Contract Zone 7 <br />Mr. Fales announced that the next Zone No. 7 Board meeting will not be held until <br />February 23rd. He stated that he has contacted the Zone staff and the PTCWD staff <br />in order to commence negotiations regarding a contract, as requested by the Council. <br />Mr. Fales stated that the City has been informed by the Zone Staff that they are <br />able and willing to commence negotiations on the open basis suggested by the Council. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from Mrs. Ernest L. Sykes stating the danger and difficulty <br />in the bridge over the Arroyo del Valle. Mrs. Sykes asked what could be done about <br />the installation of sidewalks in that area. <br />Mr. Fales stated that he would explain the situation and difficulties involved to <br />Mrs. Sykes. <br />Mr. Fales read a request from James F. Vivrette, County Surveyor and Read Commissioner <br />to the City Council to proclaim the week of February 7th to 13th as Engineers' Week. <br />The Council instructed Mr. Fales to file this request. <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from KPIX Westinghouse Broadcasting Company asking for in- <br />formation beneficial to them for establishment of a CATV System in this area. Mr. <br />Fales stated that he would advise them that such a system is currently operating <br />in this area. <br />Mr. Fales read a resolution of the City of Oakland opposing BARTD acquisition of the <br />S.F. Municipal Railway without a vote of the District. Mayor Long asked that this <br />issue be referred to the Mayors' Conference. <br />Mr. Fales read a letter signed by M. E. and J.E. Stanley regarding the acquisition b <br />the City of their property at First and Main Sts. Mr Fales stated that this matter <br />would be discussed at the February 15th Council meeting. <br />ORDINANCES FOR ADOPTION (second reading) were not scheduled for this meeting. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman McWilliams stated that the trash and debris situation at the Western <br />Pacific Depot was deplorable. Mr. Fales stated that he would call the Western <br />Pacific officials to discuss this matter. <br />There being no further business, Mayor Long adjourned the meeting at 9:30 P.M., to <br />meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M. on February 8, 1965. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />O eS2A—R-L, <br />Helen Woodward, City Clerk <br />B.
